Kursens syfte
Kursens lärandemål After the course the candidates will be able to
- communicate with an entrepreneurial perspective
- demonstrate theoretical knowledge about how medical innovations can be developed from idea to practical use
- demonstrate an understanding and knowledge in law, regulation, patent, financing and strategy for science based companies
- express an understanding for innovation systems and the relation between different actors
- argue for advantages and disadvantages with commercialisation and social entrepreneurship
Kursens innehåll The course is divided into four components:
1. Innovation and entrepreneurship: clusters of innovation, universities and their relation to entrepreneurship etc
2. Law and regulations: corporate law, patenting law (European and US perspective) etc
3. Finance: public and private financing of new companies etc
4. Strategy: business plan, collaboration between large and small companies, corporate intelligence, role of boards, human resource management etc
Arbetsformer The course is conducted as full-time studies, daytime. The course will include lectures, seminars and case studies. The lectures will be held by experts from industry, academia and other organisations within the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, patenting and finance. Lectures and seminars will be concentrated to periods in the beginning and end of the course. Other parts of the course will be offered as distance tuition with web based elements to match the national admission.
Obligatoriska moment All lectures are compulsory. Absence from maximum two lectures can be approved by the course direction if a hand-in of the topic in question is written.
Examination Written report and oral presentation/defence and opposition.
