Purpose of the course | |
Intended learning outcomes | After the course you should be able to - distinguish between leadership research and social sciences in general and between contemporary as well as historical paradigms, - identify when leadership issues must be taken into consideration in research on work environment, quality improvement, work health and organisational efficiency and profitability et cetera, and - apply knowledge from leadership research in your own research. |
Contents of the course | The field of leadership and leadership research in different perspectives and situations, including methodology. |
Teaching and learning activities | Lectures, seminars and group work. Own work includes literature studies and essay writing. |
Compulsory elements | Active participation in the seminars which are compulsory. Absences from those activities will have to be made up with written examinations. |
Examination | The course will be examined in the form of a written term paper in which the students relate the course literature to their own research. This paper will also be peer reviewed, presented and discussed in connection to the termination of the course. This type of examination is suitable for the aim of the course with individual outcomes dependent on the students background and research perspective. |
