Purpose of the course
Intended learning outcomes After the course, the students should know the basics of stem cell biology and the medical use of cell therapy. The students should be able to describe and understand the theoretical basis for key technologies utilized in stem cell research.
Contents of the course The course covers key concepts in translational research from the laboratory to the clinic, including an advanced review of descriptive and molecular developmental biology.
Teaching and learning activities The pedagogic learning activities on the course consist of cathedral lectures, group discussions and student presentations.
Compulsory elements Participation in the group discussions and student presentations is mandatory. Compensation through an individual written assignment.
Examination The students are examinated individually with a quiz or a written essay. The final course examination is a project presentation in groups.
Literature and other teaching material Knowledge base of www.dbrm.se, original articles and review articles.
